Exercise SHAKTI

The 7th edition of India- France Joint Military Exercise SHAKTI commenced at Umroi, in Meghalaya.

Key Highlights

• Exercise “Shakti” is a biennial training conducted alternatively in India and France. 

• The last edition took place in France in 2021. 

• Aim:  To enhance the joint military capabilities of both sides. 

• The joint exercise will focus on operations in the semiurban and mountainous terrain.

Other exercises between India and France: 

1. Exercise Garuda: Indian Air Force & French Air Force 

2. Exercise Varuna: Indian Navy & French Navy 

3. Exercise Desert Knight: It is conducted between the Indian Air Force (IAF), French Air and Space Force (FASF) and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force.
