RuPay SoftPoS
National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and SBI Payments have recently partnered to launch “RuPay SoftPoS”.
This technology will be helpful in transforming the NFC enabled smartphones into merchant Point of Sale (PoS) terminals for retailers.
It will provide a seamless, cost-effective acceptance infrastructure to retailers at a nominal cost. It will also play a role in boosting digital payment acceptance among millions of underserved Indian MSMEs.
It will also help Merchants to use near-field communication (NFC)-enabled smartphones as the point of sale (PoS) terminals in order to receive payment up to Rs 5,000 using a simple tap and via pay mechanism.
